4.2 Installing WEBES

After all Pre-Installation requirements are met, follow these steps to install WEBES.

Be aware that installing on a system where a previous installation profile was saved will

shorten many of the questions regarding names, addresses, hardware serial numbers, and so

on. You can change the old values if desired, or simply reconfirm them.

1. To install WEBES to its default location at sys$common, enter the following command:

$ product install webes

Otherwise, install WEBES under another location (such as a non-system disk) using the

/destination qualifier:

$ product install webes/destination=

device

directory

]

For example, if /destination=disk$user1:[diag], the installation kit appends WEBES to

this location, which results in disk$user1:[diag.compaq.svctools].

The following messages appear:

Do you want to continue? [YES]

2. Type Y or press the [Enter] key. The following messages appear:

Configuration phase starting ...

You will be asked to choose options, if any, for each selected product and

for any products that may be installed to satisfy software dependency

requirements.

>: WEBES for OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 and above.

3. Enter or confirm your customer information:

*Enter your name: Chris Green

*Enter your phone number, area code first: 123-456-7890

*Enter your company: XYZ Company

*Enter your E-mail address: chris.green@xyz.com

4. Enter or confirm an email address to receive notifications:

By default, DSNLink reply mail will be sent to chris.green@xyz.com.

To change this address, enter the new address (in standard IP

e-mail format) at the Data: prompt. To accept the default,

press RETURN.

5. Enter or confirm the name of your SMTP mail server:

By default, your SMTP Mail Server will be set to mailsys.xyz.com.

To specify a different SMTP Mail Server, enter the new Mail Server

name (in standard IP format) at the Data: prompt. To accept the
